Move Up Day for Children's Ministry: Celebrate the children moving up to their new age groups or graduating to the Rock youth group, with an evening of games, snacks, and fun! Thursday, Aug. 13th. Time TBD.

New Conference Superintendent Visit: Joshua told the people, 'Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.'" (Joshua 3:5) Rev. Dr. Dan Gildner, our new Associate Conference Superintendent, will visit our Pittsburgh North Circuit (and each circuit across the Allegheny West Conference) for a time of connection, worship and prayer. These visits are centered on two important purposes: To foster greater connection within each circuit by strengthening relationships among pastors, churches, and the Conference; and To consecrate our circuits by dedicating ourselves, our churches and our communities to a renewed work of God. Join your brothers and sisters for a circuit-wide worship gathering open to everyone, providing an opportunity for churches to come together in worship, prayer and a shared commitment to Christ’s mission. You’re invited! Come participate as we seek God’s guidance, celebrate our unity and ask him to continue his work throughout Allegheny West.  https://alleghenywestgmc.org/circuit-visits-connection-consecration/
Read more there, view the full schedule, and watch a video of Dan Gildner describing the Circuit visits.

Closest Location: Aug. 13th, 1:00 pm, Butler Global Methodist (200 East North Street, Butler 16001). See the link above for other locations and dates, including Franklin and Punxsutawney.

3:16 Challenge: We’re halfway through the summer, and if you haven’t committed to the challenge, it’s not too late! On the white board in the welcome center, simply write your name and what Bible book you are choosing to focus on the 16th verse of the 3rd chapter. Then set your alarm for 3:16 each day. When your alarm sounds, follow through with the commitment you’ve made, whether it’s to read that verse, share it with someone else, or act on it. Watch and see what God can do in your life!

Scrap Drive Sorting: We continue to collect metal for recycling in the carport behind the East Wing of the church. If you can help sort or haul the donations, please meet at the carport on Saturday, Aug. 15th at 8:30 am. Wear gloves and bring a truck or trailer if you are able. Coffee and donuts will be provided.

Sewing for Christmas Costumes: During the nativity skit Christmas Eve last year, we had so many children and youth participants that we used every angel costume we have! Would you help make more sheep and angel outfits or repair existing ones? Please contact Missy Plyler (Children's Ministry Director, [email protected]) or the church office. We can loan you a sewing machine if needed.

Cookies to Freeze: This year the Children's Ministry will also host a cookie table after the Christmas Eve worship service with the nativity skit. If you would like to bake cookies of any kind ahead of time for us to freeze, it would be greatly appreciated. Please label the bags of cookies as "Children’s" and put them in the church freezer, or see Missy Plyler. Thank you for helping us get ahead of the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, so we can bring the world the Good News of Jesus’ birth!

Carpentry Project: We are updating our nursery with a new paint job, new organization, and new items. Feel free to poke your head in to check it out! As part of this update, we would like to build a nice, simple storage bench to use in the space. If you are good with carpentry and would like to use your talents, we would love to hear from you! Please reach out to Missy Plyler ([email protected]) or notify the office if you're interested.

Used Shoe Donations: We are a collection site for the South Butler Community Library to collect used shoes of all sizes, styles, and conditions. The library will receive a monetary donation depending on the total weight of shoes collected. The funds are used for the library’s many programs, books, and items for check-out to everyone in the local community free of charge. The shoes will be processed and those in good condition will be sent to developing countries to encourage entrepreneurship among lower income people. Shoes will be collected until August 15th.

Giving Update: To keep the congregation informed, the Administrative Board offers regular financial updates. Contact the office with any questions or for more details.
