Weekly Happenings at Cabot Church:

Announcements for upcoming events:

Christmas Decorating: Join in decorating our church in anticipation of the birth of our Savior, after the Sunday service this Sunday, Nov. 23rd, around 11:45 am. Cookies will be provided.  No experience needed, just helping hands and a joyful and willing heart!

Thankfulness Chain: Stop by the table in the Welcome Center to see a visible representation of many prayers of thankfulness offered by our women’s ministry this year. You can add your own links to the chain, and give thanks to the Lord, for he is good!

Saxonburg Holiday Parade – Friday, November 28  Join us as we share Christ’s love with our community during the Saxonburg Holiday Parade, held the Friday after Thanksgiving. We’ll be handing out free hot chocolate and Christmas service invite cards in front of Kelley’s Restaurant on Main Street. Setup and distribution begin at 6:00 PM. If you’d like to help prepare the hot chocolate, meet in the church kitchen at 4:30 PM.
New This Year: Parade Float Collaboration  We’re excited to partner with other local churches in the Christian Leadership Network (CLN) to create a float themed “The Light of the World.” Decorating begins at 3:00 PM at St. Luke’s Church in Saxonburg. We welcome children, youth, and adults to ride the float—costumes are provided in all sizes. Please arrive at the parade line-up site by 6:00 PM.
Additional Ways to Help  We’re collecting candy and cookie donations and looking for a wood burner to help create ornaments. To volunteer or donate, contact Missy P. at [email protected] or contact the church office.

Giving Tree for Community Families: This year has been financially hard for many in our community. You can help a family in our area by purchasing gifts for them this Christmas. Take an ornament labeled Boy, Girl, Mom, or Dad from the Community Families Tree in the Welcome Center. Please return the gifts (wrapped or bagged with the ornament attached) to the upward concession room by December 7th.

Christmas Flower Orders: Please place your order no later than Monday, December 1st using the order form inserted in your bulletin or available in the Welcome Center, newsletter, or church office.

Hat, Glove, and Sock Tree: We would like to add these useful items to the gifts for children of families who are blessed by our Food Bank, Matrona, or other ministries of the church. You can add hats, gloves, or socks (cozy or non-cozy is okay) to the tree or the basket below it through December 15th.

Youth Fundraiser: The Rock Youth are serving on a mission trip to Gatlinburg, TN, in June. To raise funds, we have items for sale. You can purchase candles in time for Christmas gifts for $15 each.  Or take the pressure off your holiday party preparations by ordering a large tray with an assortment of homemade cookies for $30, or an order of homemade fudge for $8 (¼ lb.) or $16 (½ lb.). Please order at the table in the Welcome Center or see a youth or leader.

Advent Wreath Making: Join us to make a meaningful Advent Wreath to prepare for the coming of Jesus. The weekend of Nov. 29th & 30th, the supplies for this craft will be available right after services both Saturday and Sunday. Take-home kits will also be available. A great time for adults, kids, and families to understand and discuss the meaning of the Advent season.

Delmont Pilgrimage: This creative annual Christmas journey includes live nativities and displays at multiple churches in the city of Delmont. Sunday, December 8th. Arrive at Cabot Church by 3:15 pm to carpool, returning by 10:00 pm. Bring money for dinner in Delmont and crafts if you want. Tickets: $6 for ages 3-12 and $12 for adults. Sign up and payment deadline: Nov. 24th. Please sign up on the Welcome Center table, and see Rich James with questions and to pay (724-816-3974).

Corey’s Choice Mission Trip: You have the chance to serve others
in memory of Corey Comperatore, and in honor of Jesus Christ! June
13-20, 2026. To North Carolina to help those recovering from the
tropical storm and flooding earlier this year. Cost: $549, with
opportunities for fundraising to cover all or part of the cost. Pick up a
flyer in the Welcome Center. Contact the church for more details.
